I find theme songs for each phase of my life. Believe me, my soundtrack would be all over the place because of my eclectic taste in music.
While preparing to go to a new college 9 hours away from home, I geared up by listening to "Wide Open Spaces" by the Dixie Chicks...the lyrics just clicked.
A young girl's dreams no longer hollow
It takes the shape of a place out west
But what it holds for her she hasn't yet guessed
She needs wide open spaces
Room to make a big mistake
She needs new faces
She knows the high stakes
Little did I know then that going to that college would be the beginning of my future. I never really moved away. After college my first place and first job led to my first dog and meeting the love of my life. Here I am, years later, and I haven't left this place out west.
Sometimes we just need to go out and do something on our own. We need to make our own mistakes and messes so we can learn to fix them and grow from them. We need to be open to the adventures awaiting us.
This blog is a collection of this life -- and the moments that it's made of. There are mistakes, triumphs, heartaches, and joy captured here. There are times I took the chances and times I faced new challenges. There are many chapters to life, and this corner of the internet is just a few of mine.
